On the 4th of December I am doing a sponsored walk in support of the Cypriots who are occupying the buffer zone in Nicosia. If anybody wishes to join me no matter where they live are welcome, however if you can’t join me and would like to make a contribution no matter how small you are also welcome .

Watching a documentary last night, came across a GC called Lordos. He had some very interesting things to say. Apparently GCs have a lot to gain from a peace agreement including being able to trade with Turkey. Apparently it is a huge market. Is this the first GC to utter such words?

Finally a US leader has broken ranks and has not backed the Israel point of view. But what is US worried about. Losing control of the oil fields?
Strange how he mentioned Iran but not Saudi Arabia.
Wake up Mr Obama, before it is too late. Before you turn the whole of the middle east in to Taliban land.

Baba,
Mektup elinize geçmiş olduğu zaman, aranızdan ayrılmış bulunuyorum. Ben, ne kadar üzülmeyin desem, yine de üzüleceğinizi biliyorum. Fakat, bu durumu metanetle karşılamanı istiyorum. İnsanlar doğar, büyür, yaşar ve ölürler… Önemli olan çok yaşamak değil, yaşadığı süre içinde, fazla şeyler yapabilmektir.
Bu nedenle ben, erken gitmeyi normal karşılıyorum. Ve kaldı ki, benden önce giden arkadaşlarım, hiçbir zaman ölüm karşısında tereddüt etmemişlerdir. Benim de etmeyeceğimden şüphen olmasın.
Oğlun, ölüm karşısında aciz ve çaresiz kalmış değildir.
Bu yola bilerek girdi. Sonunda da bu olacağını biliyordu.
Seninle düşüncelerimiz ayrı ama, beni anlayacağını tahmin ediyorum. Sadece senin değil, (…) anlayacağını inanıyorum.
Cenaze için, avukatlarıma gerekli talimatı verdim. Ayrıca savcıya da bildireceğim. Ankara´da 1969´da ölen arkadaşım Taylan Özgür´ün yanına gömülmek istiyorum. Onun için cenazemi İstanbul´a götürmeye kalkma.
Annemi teselli etmek sana düşüyor. Kitaplarımı küçük kardeşime bırakıyorum. Kendisine özellikle tembih et. Onun bilim adamı olmasını istiyorum. Bilimle uğraşsın ve unutmasın ki, bilimle uğraşmak da bir yerde insanlığa hizmettir.
Son anda, yaptıklarımdan en ufak bir pişmanlık duymadığımı belirtir seni, annemi ve kardeşimi devrimciliğimin olanca ateşiyle kucaklarım…

Here is a picture of the most powerful people on earth watching the execution of an unarmed man and his children, as if they are watching a football game. It seems, give them a fair trial and then hang them brigade have decided to bypass the fair trial and go straight to hanging.
How uncivilized can US get? Who’s purpose are they serving. Will this act demoralize the terrorist or actually radicalize more young people to join them?

These two lovley people were the real Cypriots who gave their lives for their people. May they rest in peace, for those who wanted them dead as well as those who killed them, may they burn in hell.
The four TMT men who were involved, had an accident not to far from the location in early 70s, when a JCB went to help pull them out of their vehicle, it slipped and crashed them to death. A fifth deaf and dumb person in the vehicle came out unscratched.
Long live all Cypriots.

BillC you should know better than publish such a stupid divisive post. You know very well a minority of people on both sides guilty of the same thing. So why start an argument, have you not done enough to destroy the very little trust there is left on the forum?
As to Bafitis’s claim that he cares so much for desecrated cemeteries, that is very understandable, considering last year he wish the Nuclear bombs could be dropped on Turkey and wipe all 70 million residents. I guess that’s a lot of cemetery that he can care for.

Have a look at this map and tell me Turkey has no claim on the zone below Cyprus, whilst RoC claim area more than twice it’s size. It is illogical that Turkey will let go these resources.
When you consider that the First world war started because Germany was not given access to the British Empire Markets to sell which led to the second world war. Japan attacked China over resources within Chine. Israel Arab conflict is directly caused by water resources All the wars in Africa are over resources.
Stop for a moment and think what is different here. We may have resources and Turkey has a claim to them, legitimately because of its coast line. Can we take a chance and aggravate Turkey to such an extent that she will start a war. If she does, would anybody come to the aid of the RoC especially when the war is unlikely to last more than a week. By the time the UN convenes it will be over, assuming that US does not block by vetoing in favour of Turkey.
The only reasonable way forward is to have a settlement like the Annan plan where everybody had a share in it, with no threat to anybody. If we get greedy we lose, period.
Greece has realised this and is attempting to normalise relations with Turkey so she can get to the resources of f the Coast of Turkey within the islands.
Also notice how much Sea zone Rhodes has taken against Turkey, and ask why should Cyprus be entitled to any more?

If the west was genuinely interested in the welfare of the Libyans I would have no problem with it, but they do not. The reason why they are there is for oil and all the contracts for rebuilding afterwards. To do that, they will need to install their own man there and that sugests that the royalists will win this fight, so back to dictatorship any time. The real question is are the Americans aware of this or do they just blunder from one disaster to another. They did it in Afghanistan when they armed and trained Taliban against the Russians and see what the ordinary Afghani people suffered in their hands.
Will the opposition in Libya be any better. I fear not.
